What to expect: Created by hotel impresario Steve Wynn, this lavish, $2.7-billion resort opened in spring 2005. The curved building, sheathed in bronze-tinted glass, stands like a beacon at the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip. A pine-covered artificial mountain with shimmering waterfalls rises at the entrance. The light-filled lobby is a floral fantasy, brimming with spheres of colorful blooms. Parasols suspended from the ceiling dance up and down in time to music.
Amenity highlights: Centered on a three-acre lake illuminated with thousands of color-changing lights, the Lake of Dreams is a multimedia show encompassing music, light, art, and natural elements.
In addition to dozens of designer boutiques such as Cartier, Dior, Manolo Blahnik, and Chanel, the resort features a Ferrari and Maserati showroom (admission charged for showroom entrance).
A vast outdoor pool comprises a long section with an oval area at either end, and a bridge spanning the center. Internationally acclaimed chefs, including Daniel Boulud, showcase their creations at a wide array of restaurants. Le Rêve, an aquatic spectacular, is presented in a domed theater.
Set in the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip, Wynn Las Vegas offers 15 restaurants, including sophisticated steakhouses, generous buffets, and casual cafés. Guests can choose from Italian, French, Chinese, Japanese, Southeast Asian, and American cuisines. The aquatic live production Le Rêve offers breathtaking performances featuring aerial acrobatics, provocative choreography, and artistic athleticism in an intimate theater in-the-round. Nightlife hotspots are the chic Tryst and the boutique nightclub Blush.
Shopping boutiques featuring renowned designers are housed along an esplanade of retail space and include the Penske/Wynn Ferrari- Maserati dealership. The spa offers 45 treatment rooms for massage, body treatments, facials, and hydrotherapy. A 110,000-square-foot casino includes table games, slots, Keno, a poker room, and race and sports book with live international satellite broadcasts.
Original works by Rembrandt, Renoir, Monet, Picasso, and other great artists are displayed throughout the property. Many pieces are from owner Steve Wynn’s personal collection.
Tom Fazio, in collaboration with Steve Wynn, designed the 18-hole, par-70 golf course.
